Blessings Psalm 128

While exploring God's word today on the topic of blessings, I loved what God has to tell us in Psalm 128.
As I read it, I smiled and felt peace, love and gratitude warm my heart,mind and soul.
The poetry of this lovely Psalm truly allows you to feel God's intimate and tender love for us all.
I wanted to share it with you.

May you be encouraged!

1 Blessed are all who fear the LORD,
   who walk in his ways.
2 You will eat the fruit of your labor;
   blessings and prosperity will be yours.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
   within your house;
your sons will be like olive shoots
   around your table.
4 Thus is the man blessed
   who fears the LORD.
 5 May the LORD bless you from Zion
   all the days of your life;
may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem,
 6 and may you live to see your children’s children.
   Peace be upon Israel

Psalm 128

What does the Fear of the Lord mean?

There are two kinds of "fear" of the Lord in Scripture. One positive and the other negative.
The information is very interesting
See my post The Fear of the Lord-What Does it Mean?

Interesting historical note-
This Psalm is called a Song of AscentsI did not know what this meant, so I decided to find out. This is a title given to 15 of the Psalms, 120-134.
Some Bible translations call them Songs of Degree, Songs of Steps or Pilgrim Songs.

The New Living Translation uses "A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem."
Research suggests that these were sung by people going up to Jerusalem to attend the three pilgrim festivals (Deuteronomy 16:16or
sung by the priests as they ascended the fifteen steps to minister an the Temple in Jerusalem.
