Soldiers Deck of Cards Video with Magical Ending

I post this beautiful video to honor our soldiers and veterans. Thank you for your service.

What does a soldier, a deck of cards and prayer have in common? Find out.

The story is supposed to date from the late 1700's in which a soldier uses a deck of cards as a tool for prayer and quiet reflection. There are many "versions" of this tale but the idea remains the same.

A soldier overseas at war sits in his bunker with a deck of cards spread out on his bed.
His deck of cards acts as his Bible.
Each card represents something to the soldier. Here are examples of what certain cards remind the soldier of:

Cards -
Ace-   reminds me there in only 1 God  Dt 4:39   1 Corinthians 8:4
2 -      the 2 halves of the Bible, the Old Testament and the New Testament
3 -      the Trinity,  Father, Son and Holy Spirit
4 -      the 4 Apostles- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
5 -      the 5 wise virgins and 5 Foolish virgins  Matt 25:1-13
6 -      the 6 days in which God made the Heavens and the Earth   Genesis 1
7 -      Completion. On the 7th day God rested from his work        Genesis 2:1-2
8 -      the 8 righteous people,Noah's family, which God saved in the Ark from the great Flood
9 -      the 9 of 10 lepers were cleansed by Jesus yet only 1 was thankful Luke 17:11-19
10 -    the 10 Commandments
Jack- Satan which means "adversary"
Queen- the Virgin Mary  Matthew 1
King- Jesus, the King  John 18:37

There are more correlations with the deck of card- 4 suits, 13 cards per suit, 52 cards, 12 face cards etc.- but I don't want to spoil the surprises. Maybe you can try to GUESS before you watch the video.

Be sure to watch the entire 3 minute video  - there is a very magical ending.

The story says Jesus is the King of this soldier's heart.
Is Jesus the King of your heart?
If so, how do you show this on a daily basis?
If not, think about why. Only you truly know or care.

If you are not a believer, you owe it to yourself to investigate. Your eternity is at stake.
I pray you find the truth.

Christ as Lord 1 Peter 3:15-18

1 Peter 3:15-18  I love these verses.

15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord
Always be prepared to give an answer
to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect,
16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously
against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

17 For it is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good
than for doing evil.
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous,
to bring you to God.

See my post Personal Relationship with God for some further thoughts on 1 Peter 3:15

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son,
that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life John 3:16

I hope this blessed you today.
I am no theologian, just a thankful child of God, who though I stumble in my walk with the Lord,
I pray to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
To him be the Glory both now and forever! Amen."

Humbly in His Service,
Julie
